Hawaiian wedding vow renewal ceremony
Outrigger Kiahuna Plantation introduces a complimentary vow renewal ceremony exclusively for Outrigger guests. The non-denominational ceremony is conducted by a practicing kahu, Hawaiian minister. The ceremony begins with couples offering each other a fresh flower lei. The sound of a conch shell signals the kahu to recite a chant in the Hawaiian language accompanied by English translation. Couples learn the significance of Ha, the breath of life, as they exchange vows and a special kiss. Hawaiian slack-key guitar music is performed throughout the ceremony, a serenade to couples and guests. Couples are presented with a keepsake certificate to commemorate the occasion.
To maintain the uniqueness and intimacy of the occasion, each vow renewal ceremony is open to six couples only. Couples must be legally married to participate. Reservations are required and are accepted no more than two weeks prior to the preferred ceremony date.
